Project Manager, International Equity Trading

Role Overview: Avesta Investment Group, leading investment advisory and brokerage company in Uzbekistan, is seeking an experienced Manager, International Equity Trading to establish, lead, and develop a newly created international equity trading department. The successful candidate will be responsible for building trading operations, infrastructure, agreements with partners, developing trading strategies and marketing for new clients, and expanding this new business line, while ensuring professional execution across global equity markets.

Key Responsibilities: 

- Establish and lead the International Equity Trading (unsponsored listing type of trading) department from the ground up
- Develop and implement trading strategies for international equity markets together with international brokerage partners
- Execute equity trades at the local exchange with international instruments with a focus on efficiency and compliance
- Manage and grow the department’s operations, processes, and controls
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the development of international trading products
- Monitor market trends, liquidity, and regulatory developments
- Marketing operations for local retail and institutional clients, partners
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (risk, compliance, operations, management)
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management

Mandatory Requirements:

- Proven equity trading experience, including international markets. Real personal trading accounts is acceptable
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written (business style communications)
- Experience in international investments/brokerage companies will be an advantage for a candidate
- Administrating/Moderating/Authoring on the social networks, groups, channels, blogs on investment thematic will be an advantage for candidate (position do not require cancellation of such activity)
- Demonstrated ability to manage, build, and develop a new team or business function
- Solid understanding of global equity markets, trading platforms, and execution mechanics
- Strong communication skills with clients, partners, regulators, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in launching or scaling a trading desk or new business line (limited time window and huge amount of organizational work at the beginning)
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and compliance requirements (sphere is new and will be highly regulated not to allow frauds)
- Strong analytical, decision-making, entrepreneurial mindset and leadership skills (area of business is completely new, candidate should be ready to participate in an entire industry shaping process)
- Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-developing environment (candidate can take as much responsibility as he can to move forward fast and productive)
- Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability (good strategic decisions at the early stage could save a lot of time and efforts and provide significant competitive advantage)
- High level of integrity and professional judgment (leadership through excellence - investment advisory sphere require ideal reputation. Any business ethics misconduct is unacceptable)
- IT development or understanding of key mechanics will be a significant advantage (development of the business may require adapting or developing of an own application (with external software developers) and execution mechanism with connection to other infrastructure)
