JOINT STOCK COMPANY “UZBEK METALLURGICAL PLANT” ANNOUNCES RECEIPT OF CDP (CARBON DISCLOSURE PROJECT) SCORE
Joint Stock Company “Uzbek Metallurgical Plant” (RSE: UZMK) (hereinafter - Uzmetkombinat JSC, the “Company”), a leading producer of ferrous metallurgy in Uzbekistan, announces that for the first time in the Republic of Uzbekistan it has received a score from CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) – one of the leading international providers of ESG ratings.
According to the results of the CDP Climate Change 2023 assessment, Uzmetkombinat JSC was given a score of “C”. The result equals to the global average score and demonstrates CDP's recognition of Company’s awareness and measures taken on a wide range of issues in the field of climate change.
“The CDP score obtained reflects the Company's systemic efforts to develop responsible business practices and improve the public ESG profile of Uzmetkombinat JSC. I am confident that comprehensive work in the field of climate change management not only contributes to the long-term financial sustainability of our Company, but also contributes to strengthening the public profile of the Republic of Uzbekistan in international capital markets”, - said Deputy Chairman of the Management Board - Financial Director of Uzmetkombinat JSC Tatyana Budei.
The CDP score received by Uzmetkombinat JSC is the first and only experience of this kind both for the Company and for the entire Republic of Uzbekistan. The participation in the CDP assessment will play an important role in further strengthening the trust of investors and creditors in the Company, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the region in general.
Comprehensive work to prepare and support the Company for participation in the CDP assessment was carried out with the involvement of Finvizier Consultancies DMCC.

CDP is an independent non-profit organization founded in 2000 in the United Kingdom. CDP manages a global system of information disclosure for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impact. At the end of 2023, more than 23,000 companies from around the world, with a combined capitalization of about 67% of the total capitalization of companies listed on global stock exchanges, participated in the CDP survey. The CDP rating is supported by institutional investors with total assets under management of over USD 136 trillion.

JSC Uzmetkombinat (JSC UZMK) is the leader of ferrous metallurgy in Uzbekistan, counting its history from 1944. Its manufacturing plant has an installed annual capacity of more than 1 million tons of rolled products and is implementing a large-scale investment program to increase capacity to 2.5 million tons per year during 2021-2025. The enterprise employs more than 11,000 people. Its products are sold in all regions of the country and are exported to various countries of the world, including Europe. More than 90% of the company's shares are owned by the Uzbekistan state. A significant portion of the company’s shares is traded on RSE “Toshkent”.
